Promotion of Social Cohesion and Engagement Among Members
- Capacity building for Unity Club members: Retreats, trainings, induction and refresher sessions, mentorship
- Promote social activities among members: Social events, compassion with members in both good and challenging time.
Promotion of Unity Among Rwandans
- Unity Club Annual Forum
- “Unity Award” to recognize the Preservers of the pact of Unity: Unity Club initiated “Unity Award” in 2010 to award “Abarinzi b’Igihango”. Abarinzi b’Igihango are ordinary people who have shown strong commitment to unity within the Rwandan society.
- Ndi Umunyarwanda
- Youth empowerment: Ndi Umunyarwanda Integration in High Learning Institutions and High Schools: This program aims at engaging the Youth in dialogues on History of Rwanda, Cultural values and Taboos, Healing the wounds and scars from our dark history to enhance youth unity, resilience and engagement in Country’s development.
- “Urubuga rwa Ndi Umunyarwanda” monthly talk shows on TV and Radio Rwanda: Conducted in collaboration with MINUBUMWE and RBA tackling different topics on “Ndi Umunyarwanda”.
Outreach Programs Targeting Identified Groups In Line With Unity Club’s Philosophy
- Caring for Intwaza:
- IMPINGANZIMA: Unity Club and partners has put in place a program to take care of INTWAZA through provision of homes known as IMPINGANZIMA, health care and other forms of psychosocial support, so they live in dignity and grace.
- INTWAZA are widows and widowers whose families (spouses and all children) were exterminated during the Genocide against Tutsi in 1994.Currently, they are four IMPINGANZIMA located in Huye, Nyanza, Bugesera and Rusizi.
- Integrated Community Development Project carried out in Huye District, Mukura Sector, Bukomeye Cell, Taba Village in the immediate neighbors of Huye Impinganzima. It serves as a bridge to strengthen unity and reconciliation in the community while at the same time paving ways for smooth integration of the elderlies.
- Quarterly dialogues targeting the surrounding community of Huye Impinganzima in Mukura Sector to enhance social cohesion, unity and community engagement in development activities.
Cross Cutting Programs
- Research: to identify threats to unity, continuously researches on solutions aiming at unity, peace, reconciliation to enhance resilience, all of which aim at fostering the spirit of trust and collaboration.
