What we do

Unity Club increases social cohesion among members and institutional capacity

Output 1: Unity Club members reflect the model of unity in their daily practices and behaviors

Activities:

  • Organize workshops on leadership development (goal setting, time management, giving back to the society, uphold Rwandan values in their daily life...)
  • Hold Unity Club  members’ General Assembly
  • Hold Unity Club  members‘ annual retreat
  • Mentorship programs
  • Promote social activities among members
  • Promote Unity Club values through different media channels…

Output 2:Attain active participation of Unity Club members in the Club’s activities

Activities:

  • Identify, tap, and utilize the full potential of members
  • Organize induction and refresher sessions for members
  • Organize capacity building programs for Unity Club members
  • Sensitize, monitor and evaluate members’ participation in their respective Commissions
  • Assign clear roles and responsibilities to each member in different Unity Club’s activities and events to encourage ownership, responsibilities and accountability among members

Output 3: Unity Club Institutional capacity is strengthened

Activities:

  • Organize training programs for Unity Club members and Secretariat staff in subjects of interest
  • Continue fund mobilization for Unity Club’s activities and increase the budget of the Secretariat
  • Audit, monitor and evaluate the effective use of Unity Club’s properties, finances and human resources to ensure accountability

Performance Indicators:

  • Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual Reports (General Assembly, retreat, Commissions)
  • Commission’s evaluation Reports
  • Impressive level (%) of participation of members in Unity Club’s activities
  • Number of induction, refresher sessions organized
  • Accountability measure adopted
  • Number of trainings organized
  • Operational budget planned attained

Unity Club promotes outreach programs targeting identified groups in line with its mandate

Output 1: Projects cementing unity and peace through social justice and sustainable development in identified communities/groups are implemented

Activities:

  • Expanding and upgrading Impinganzima houses for “Intwaza” (Huye, Nyanza ) and monitor their wellbeing
  • Scaling up the ICDP in other Impinganzima Nyanza, Bugesera, Rusizi or elsewhere
  • Support any other emerging vulnerable group in line with Unity Club mandate
  • Initiate new projects cementing unity and peace of Rwandans
  • Work closely with Institutions in charge of orphans and widows to find sustainable solutions

Output 2: Women empowerment, gender equality and other social change initiatives are carried out

Activities:

  • Partner with relevant Institutions to map all interventions in women empowerment and gender equality
  • Organize awareness campaigns on Rwandan cultural values (Indangagaciro) with emphasis on the youth
  • Evaluate in collaboration with Institutions in charge of gender equality the impact of Gender equality policy on families
  • Organize national campaigns on Gender equality policy in collaboration with MIGEPROF
  • Engage regional and international women leaders and youth in Gender equality and women empowerment

Performance Indicators:

  • Reports and minutes
  • New projects initiated
  • Number of new vulnerable groups targeted in the line with Unity Club mandate
  • Number of partnerships established with relevant institutions
  • Number of dialogues organized on values
  • Number of TV and Radio shows conducted on values
  • Progress monitoring report
  • Report on gender impact on families

Unity Club promotes partnership with organizations with similar goals.

Output: Strong partnerships with various Organizations complementing Unity Club mandate are built

  • Initiate and strengthen Peace building partnerships
  • Conduct an annual partner’s recognition ceremony, share experience and achievements
  • MoU development with partners
  • Joint initiatives/Projects
  • Cross promotion (attending each one’s event)
  • Attend and share Rwanda’s experience in national and international meetings on peace building
